How do you write what people actually want to read?
Writing what people actually want to read is not as easy as it sounds. Mostly, I write for those who are led to read whether it’s read or not.
I used to try to write for others but honestly I believe like many of the art forms, writing is for the person writing it.
I’ve never been one to write for the numbers or for fame or popularity. I USED to think I wanted to be well known but I’ve since learned that well known means that you will be scrutinized more.
Honestly, there’s a scripture that comes to mind that resonates with me. It’s from James chapter 3, verse 1:
“Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.”
For me, this means there will be greater accountability, greater visibility, and greater responsibility- none of which can be taken lightly.
Writing what others want to read is no longer a goal of mine. I do hope that whoever reads what I write finds themselves aware, aligned, and authentically accepted.
