Are you a lifelong learner?
I am a lifelong learner, but I’m not sure that it was a decision I made. I believe that we are all motivated by different desires.
One of these things that I enjoy most is learning. I used to think that I was a terrible student until I realized that my brain was wired a little bit differently than what I was talked to expect.
One of the most frustrating things that I have experienced about being a lifelong learner is the way that it has impacted my response to questions because I am usually seeking a solution.
I have often expected myself for my own beliefs and joy and learning from other people. I realize this is a very narrow view because learning is not always a fun experience however, learning has always been a safe place for me. It wasn’t until I stopped, questioning my experience and started embracing my way of thinking
I am not merely suggesting that we overlook the need for standardized and measurable learning out outcomes, but I am highly suggesting that we consider that not every brain is wired exactly the same. And in taking this in consideration, we can find ourselves being open to helping to shape students instead of making students fit into the shape.
