Called but Why?

Sometimes you might find yourself being called to rooms and not sure if you should really be in the room. Often times the first thing we ask ourselves when we are called to a room is whether or not we actually belong in that room. I’m writing to suggest that maybe our approach to this is completely backward.

You see often times we may find ourselves more aware of our perspective rather than the perspective of others. If we are constantly looking from one perspective or from a narrow place, we can expect that we will disqualify ourselves long before we ever had an opportunity to show ourselves.

One of the great things about being mindful of the connections we make is that we are able to select and choose who it is that surrounds us. Ideally, we are choosing people from all walks of life; not just for what they can bring to us, but also for what we can bring to them. The current situation is that too many of us have wandered too far from the path of truth and have been operating as though we are trying to come back up when truth is about vertical alignment, not lateral. I’m writing today to say that your reality may not be what is real.

A wise person is able to understand that what is real is not the same thing as true reality. No, I’m not trying to sound philosophical. I’m just simply suggesting that too many of us are operating on the basis of only what we can perceive. Something happens when we operate on only what we can perceive which often leads us to a place of limitation. However, if we are mindful of the connections we make, and who we have chosen to surround ourselves with then they will often reflect what is in us.

If you don’t like the people that are surrounding you, or you are forever finding things wrong with those you are connected to, then perhaps you are the one who is unhappy and discontent with you. So how does this relate to being called?

It relates to being called because what you perceive is what you believe. If you are living based on what it is that you “perceive“ then you are selling yourself short. You may think that you’re being called to that room because you are there to fulfill a need for them. Howe ver, being called to that room may very well fulfill a need for you. My hope is that before, accepting any call-no matter how appealing we would consider the things that we cannot perceive & the possibilities. That we would consider asking our wise friends for their thoughts and their perception as a way to more accurately gauge our decision .
