I said it before and I’ll say it again, “Do your ACTIONS equal your WANTS?” Please don’t tell me that you want more rest if you’re not willing to make some adjustments. If you desire “rest” please first understand why and rest from what?
So many people have a hard time understanding that the decision to rest is a discipline. That’s right, discipline is a set of practices we implement to support the decision we’ve made. If you’re wanting more “rest” time, then you have to be intentional about sorting through your time. For instance, I work really hard during the day to finish my “work” so when I get off work, I can enjoy my “rest” from work.
Often times people will ask me questions about how to strike a balance. In turn, I ask them to share with me what their priorities are. This sounds deeper than it actually is, but hear me out. When I say that I want to publish three books, I am setting my intention. However, every subsequent action will either move me closer to my goal or away from my goal. What are your actions showing you about the decisions you’ve made? Feel like you’re stuck? Change your decisions! It boils down to one thing: You ONLY make a decision ONE time. Everything else either supports the decision or refutes it. You decide. In fact, you decide EACH time.
