My answer would be genuine authentic true friendship….the kind of friendship that holds you accountable and refuses to let you settle ! The kind of friendship that PUSHES you out of your comfort zone with your best interest at heart….
I think friendships is a way that allows us to operate in our full capacity because true friendships are a combination of trust, laughter for no reason and EVERY reason. True friendships bounce back from abrasive seasons and results in growth for everyone. True friendships are those that recognize your feelings, your heart, and your desire.
Why now? Why write this now? Because as a sister, as a friend, as a woman who has spent some time in some less than stellar places I have come to TRULY appreciate the variety of friendships God has gifted me with from MANY different walks of life. Friendships that cross a variety of barriers, lifestyles, beliefs, and experiences. Some of my dearest friends are my age, but others are 40 years my senior. Some are in the same field as me but others are in complete opposite fields.
Overall, I hope this post causes you to consider your own friendships. Consider the value, consider the overall variety of friendships you have and spend a moment to tell them thank you.
To my friends, I thank you and I thank God for you. I thank you for loving me and for choosing me. My access to you is NOT something I take for granted. I love you.
