I found this picture that popped on my timeline…and it’s kind of a big deal!
It’s an oil pastel from 2 years ago while I was on a flight to California.

Why is this a big deal? Because I was in the air flying with the sun gleaming through the window when my entire life I thought I’d remain in the dark: unseen and unheard.
Yet by the grace of God, I was brought out. From the time I was a little girl up until that year- I was certain I was better seen and not heard. I was certain that I would always experience hurt. This day, I was traveling to meet a TON of teens to share with them hope- and one thing I feel like I know intimately is hope. How so? Because hope kept me alive and it was my true gift from God.
You may or may not know but I grew up in a very difficult home, had an abusive childhood, and lived in near poverty. Yet? I remember worrying about food, dumpster diving for treats, and sometimes watching my dad eat fast food with my mouth watering because I was hungry…I remember sneaking food from the cafeteria and even stealing food from the stores…
By the grace of God, I didn’t give up. To this day I don’t know how, but now I know why….it was so I could share my testimony with others who are feeling oppressed, overlooked, and overwhelmed. It was to shine light on the areas of darkness in the lives of others so that they TOO can find hope.
Whatever your story, don’t stop. Please don’t quit before the miracle. Please know that “Your NOW is not your next!” Freedom is yours! Your voice matters and you may get knocked down, but it’s YOUR choice to stay down or get up. I’m calling every one of you UP! You can do this!
Stay tuned for more stories of authenticity, alignment, and awkwardness 😂!
