Our Greatest Fear

It didn’t occur to me until after several years of consistent searching, prayer, meditation, and spiritual reconstruction.

What you may be asking? We’ve been set free—so why do we imprison ourselves?

The reason is the same reason that Marianne Williamson’s famous quote is so often misattributed to Nelson Mandela is so valuable and it is this:

“Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”

Let’s talk about freedom & fear

Not the fear of walking up on a rattlesnake or the fear of almost driving off a cliff.

I’m talking about the fear that stops you from elevating to your NEXT level of greatness…

The ONE that even though you’re being pushed and keep getting green lights saying the time is NOW…you don’t move-yeah, that’s the one.

No, I don’t suggest that we give credit to any entity here other than ourselves for our lack of movement or momentum.

If you have identified with anything that I have said here thus far, here is your NEXT step: PAUSE

Think about what is holding you back.

For me, it wasn’t failure.

It was fear of THE GREATNESS…yes, this sounds strange, I know, but come with me.

I honestly knew that if I put my mind to anything I could do it—

But WHAT would happen WHEN I reached my goal?

-GREATER Responsibility…

-I would STAND OUT…

-I would NO LONGER be able to SHRINK into the small places I was used to…

Again, the issue was my mindset.

Again, I make the inquiry of if I’ve been set free, why do I live as though I’m imprisoned?

The question at hand wasn’t: will ever I ever be successful, great, full, wealthy, joyous?

Instead, it can be summed with a daily evaluation by asking myself:

Have I truly stepped into my God given I am?

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
